Florence E. Rivers

Florence E. (Drew) Rivers, 85, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge surrounded by her loving family.  She is the wife of the late Ernest R. “Junie” Rivers, who died in 2008

Born in West Burke, VT, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Thelma (Laclair) Drew.  She was raised and educated in Manchaug/ Sutton.

She loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rivers is survived by her four children, Pamela Gonzales and her husband Ed, of Milford, Donald Rivers and his wife Debby, of Upton, Tina Marcou of Gilbertville, and Scott Rivers and his wife Michelle, of Upton; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister Nancy Fleming of Whitinsville; her daughter-in-law, Denise Rivers of Whitinsville; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Drew of Upton; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son Richard Rivers, and her siblings, Joe Drew, Harry Drew, Dorothy Thatcher, Betty Lambert, and Shirley Nyquist.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, January 29, in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc. 45 Main St. Upton.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, January 28, in the funeral home.
